Santa Cruz Rotary Local Charitable Foundation
At the first Rotary Board Meeting of 2005/06, the Board of Directors unanimously approved the establishment of the Santa Cruz Rotary Foundation. This Foundation was funded from the general fund of the Rotary operating budget in the amount of $50,000.
Proceeds from all fundraisers will be deposited with the Foundation
The purpose of the Santa Cruz Rotary Foundation is twofold.
The first objective is to make Benevolence and Grants charitable donations from this Foundation. The goal is to build the Foundation reserves, preventing reliance upon new sources of funding each year. Building the corpus enables the Foundation to continue to donate to worthwhile projects and to supplement ongoing fundraising efforts.
The second objective is to ensure that all contributions to the Santa Cruz Rotary Foundation are treated as I.R.S. approved
charitable donations. The Santa Cruz Rotary Foundation 501(c3) was approved by the state of California as a non - profit corporation. Legal services were provided by Rotarian Larry Brenner Attorney at Law at no cost.
The Santa Cruz Rotary Foundation Board of Directors is responsible for its operations, disbursements and investments.
